Fire has only one assignment, to Burn!
It may have other applications but it’s principal work is to burn.
Fire must burn something, it needs a material upon which it functions.
When we pray we ask for fire from heaven but we fail to ask ourselves this simple question, “What will that fire burn?”.
Proverbs 26:20a, “Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out”.
Anytime we ask for fire we received it but it quenched because wood finished.
Every time fire is mentioned in the old covenant, wood and sacrifice accompanies it.
1 Kings 18:38, “Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench”
The fire burnt everything it came in direct contact with.
If you want that fire in you to burn, sacrifice and wood is required.
Prayer, diligent study of your bible, fasting, etc are wood and sacrifices that makes fire burn!
