It’s so easy to forget; as humans, we have a tendency to adjust to the moment by removing our attention from the past. It’s not advisable to live in the past, but we must never forget some things. Those who forget their past, do so at the expense of their future. Your history is the building block for your tomorrow.
Tomorrow belongs only to those who are thankful for today!
As 2016 is about to use the exit door, it’s time to reflect, it’s time to remember. Jolt yourself, pinch yourself to remember how you get here.
Remember God, thank Him for His goodness so far. Don’t forget to give special thanksgiving offering (verbally and in substance).
Forget NOT…Don’t forget your God,
Forget not your source,
Remember who brought you this far,
Remember where your blessing and giftedness came from…
Now that you’re grown, (or so you think); don’t forget the One who fostered you.
Don’t depart from the way of life, don’t abandon the highway of holiness,
Don’t exchange true riches for pebbles. Remember the fountain of life.
Remind yourself; Away from God, you are nothing, you’re nobody…going nowhere.
All your self devised alternatives cannot hold water, they are fluke! Repent and return! The Lord is your ONLY source, without Him, you can do nothing!
Remember where you came from; your humble background, the misfortune you recovered from, the successful business you own now, that sprang from an experience of unemployment and financial difficulty. Let your memory shape you into a better character. Remember, remember!
Don’t forget to appreciate those who helped you up, who taught you, fed you, trained you and created a ladder for you to climb upon.
Remember to thank those in relationship with you, who made 2016 a remarkable and success-filled year. Make conscious effort to thank your family and friends, staff and associates, clients and customers. Now is the time to show gratitude.
God has been good to you…even YOU!
Remember to say thanks and tell everyone how good God has been to you.
“Has any nation ever traded its gods for new ones, even though they are not gods at all? Yet my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols! The heavens are shocked at such a thing and shrink back in horror and dismay,” says the LORD. “For my people have done two evil things: They have abandoned me— the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all!” (Jeremiah 2:11-13 NLT)
Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalms 103:1-5 NKJV)
