Some Blessings we don’t count.
Not all can see the power behind what we cannot recognize as Blessings today. We complain about what we don’t have, but can we see the usual things we have as the greatest asset?
1. Breath
How minuit and unrecognizable this unit of our being has been reduced!
A wise man once said: ‘life is a gift, but it doesn’t go round’. The beauty to sleep and wake up, is a rich grace; not all have the grace. What is life without the breath? What is man without an ability to inhale and exhale? We can only claim to own something because of the breath: without it nothing can function in the human body, we can be likened to a statue.
Gen.2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. (NIV)
Job.33:4 For the Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (NLT)
There can be defect with any part of the human body, yet we live. But the defect of the nose or an inability to exchange air appropriately, will lead to death. Remember some people are pronounced dead, because they have lost breath in them. So while your breath is still in you, you possess the Spirit of the one who formed you. It’s a blessing.
2. Food
A nursery prayer states: ‘some have food, but cannot eat. Some can eat, but have no food. We have food and we can eat… ’
Many at times, we blame another for eating much, actually, it’s a blessing to have food.
Out of the mercies of the Lord, food is made available. Our lands are blessed by God to produce whatever it is we plant; it’s not just a law, it is an intentional action to make man eat and grow.
Acts.14.17 but he never left himself without a witness. There were always his reminders, such as sending you rain and good crops and giving you food and joyful hearts.” (NLT) It is only a house that has food that can be merry. Because an hungry man, is an angry man.
Many has died for lack of food (famine), not bad food. However, without food, sleep will be difficult to have. Food is very important for the human growth and recovery from any illness too.
Remember, some have food, but they cannot eat it. Some can eat, but they have no food. If you have the food, bless the Lord for it. When you bless Him, you will not just eat something, you will feel fulfilled.
3. Sleep
Ps.127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep. (NKJV).
Sleeplessness is a serious discomfort to a person who needs sleep. Sleep makes us forget a lot of tears we cried before the action of sleep. It also repairs many weak tissues, thereby arranging what has been disarranged by many activities.
After many nights of struggling with sleep, I realized my brain was dull and incompetent of thinking including bad sight. I never thought sleep was that necessary, until I could sleep (sound) and concluded it’s a priceless gift.
4. Strength
It takes a strong deer to pant for the waters. Without this vital ingredient, a child won’t lift his hand, can’t run around, an adult can’t go to work, neither can they speak.
Ps.68.35 You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God! (NIV).
If strength is not essential, there will not be a word as weakness. There are times we find it difficult to do the usual things we do, or the good way we feel. Though it’s a phase in life, but we have paid nothing to have strength to carry on again. It’s worth thinking over and ascribing glory to who did it without your consent.
5. Mind
Not everyone has a sound mind.
We think and maximize duties, achievements, opportunities and ideas. The mind is within and has been a defence for many paths. It’s a powerful part of the human that can make us achieve whatever it is set to achieve.
That’s the reason the Bible instructs: Rom.12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV)
A sound mind on the things of God towards manifesting destiny is the best asset to have_ without the mind, nothing set can be achieved.
6. Smile
It takes strength to smile, as it is a show of gladness on the outside. It’s also a natural ornament that sends goodwill to another sad soul. Don’t take your smile for granted, it’s also an anti-aging recipe.
7. Humans
Young or old, rich or poor, we all are a blessing. Ever heard of ‘the gift of men?’ It’s certainly the involvement of an individual in the life of another. No man is a n island of success without another’s participation. Appreciate those you have around you by so doing, you make the place a better place.
8. Family
Not everyone have a family, have you noticed?
It’s fine to call daddy, mummy or siblings without having to think where they have gone leaving you behind.
That relative does not care about your money alone, pray for them and help them get better too.
Not everyone is opportune to have all these. Appreciate the Lord for all these innumerable and daily blessings.
